Q-R Codes
True confession: I’m one of those folks who believes if I touch the wrong button on my computer, the darn thing will blow up. Well, that’s a bit hyperbolic, but there is an element of truth to what I just said. So, a huge shoutout to my good friend and web designer, Sandy McKinney for bringing me into the 21st century and helping me get a Q-R code for my website.

Quintessential Candies
In July of every year, our entire family (including kids and grandkids) rent a property and hang out for an entire week. This is a big deal for us because both our kids live far away. This year we chose a place in Maryland, and it did not disappoint! A huge bonus was that we got to visit with our friends, the Cissell’s, who live in the area we stayed in. If you ever visit the Annapolis area, you won’t want to miss the Amish Marketplace. Although I’m not a fan of pretzels and detest corn candy, this little delicacy caught my eye, as well as some of the other treats.

Later this month, I’ll be conducting a workshop, along with a plethora of other authors in McKinney, Texas. There, we’ll have the opportunity to engage with readers on the craft of writing. It’s a wonderful chance for local authors to introduce themselves to the community. I would love to see some of you there if you live in the area.

August 17 & 18th: 10:00 AM - 5 PM.
Quirky Characters
One of the books I’ll be selling at this event is a printed copy of Faded Dreams, a Hallmark-like movie version of life in Alaska. The main character, Laney McLaughlin is a bit quirky, in that she abruptly decides to abandon her comfortable lifestyle in Dallas, Texas, and move to the tiny town of Hoonah, Alaska and become a travelling nurse. In the writing world, we call these ‘fish out of water’ stories because the main character in the story is functioning out of her element; in other words, she’s exposed to a life unfamiliar to her. This is a sweet Christmas themed read and because many of you refer print books to ebooks, I’ve made it available in print, as of yesterday. At $10.99, I think it’s a lot of bang for your buck, so be sure and grab a copy!

I look forward to seeing some of you at the McKinney Literary Fest and when my September newsletter comes out, you’ll hear all about my 58th Osseo High School Class reunion and our awesome boat cruise on beautiful Lake Minnetonka.
Hugs & Good Wishes,
Gay Ann
